Sony Crackle brings free streaming video to your iOS devices

CrackleSony has recently announced the release of the Crackle video streaming app for iOS devices. The app that is currently available on the PlayStation 3, Google TV and Google Chrome is now on everyone’s favorite shiny objects – the iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad.

While there are countless video streaming services available online for your iOS devices, what sets Crackle apart is that all content shown on it is free. From full-length feature movies to your favorite sitcoms, Crackle charges you nothing at all for watching content on its service. The catch? The app is run by ads. Well, it is free after all. Just like other apps that run on multiple platforms, Crackle gives you the ability to continue watching shows on your other devices (i.e. start a movie in the train on your iPhone and go home to finish it on your PS3).

Even though you’re only limited to watching Sony content, you can be sure that the app won’t suffer any loss of shows by complaining broadcasters who feel streaming video online is not the same as watching it on a TV – because the content is all owned by Sony. Crackle is available now on the App Store.
