There is just something about a customized computer, as you tend to have a special attachment to it due to the fact that it is more “special” in a sense compared to what’s offered on the market. Of course, that would mean forking out more money for it in the process (most of the time that is the rule of thumb anyways), but isn’t it well worth every penny spent? The updated Apple Store iPhone app now enables you to purchase a build to order Mac, as well as the ability to receive help quickly whenever you are at a retail store.

The application is free (you can get it here via iTunes), where version 1.3 will weigh in at 3.2MB, and if you do not know English, French, German, Italian and Spanish, then you can give this a pass. Oh yeah, one more thing – make sure you are running iOS 4.0 or newer before downloading and installing this app.

Some of the new features of Apple Store 1.3 are enhanced in-store mode that allows you to receive help and support in a jiffy whenever you are at an Apple Retail Store, the ability to custom-configure a new Mac with the options you want – this was previously possible only on Apple’s website instead of via an app. Too bad it isn’t optimized for the iPad – that move certainly has left us puzzled – why not make the whole thing uniform? Perhaps in version 1.4 we can look forward to that…
