Well, it looks like the UK release date for the HP TouchPad has been confirmed, where it will arrive across the pond this coming July 15th, hitting HP.com, PC World, Curry’s, Amazon, Argos, Comet, & Carphone Warehouse. Up next would be the pricing details, of course, as you mull over whether to part with £399 for the 16GB model, or £479 for the 32GB TouchPad instead. Reviews for the tablet have been fair, and while it isn’t as scathing as those for the BlackBerry PlayBook, the webOS-powered HP TouchPad is not going to be an iPad killer anytime soon.

We do know that the HP TouchPad will have an in-house developed Facebook app just in case you can’t get enough of the social network wherever you go, and to tout some of the better features of the TouchPad, we have its integrated Beats Audio sound system as well as full support for Adobe Flash Player.

HP is currently working closely with development partners in order to make publishing for the platform a snap – so you can expect to see the launch of many more UK-centric webOS applications down the road which has been optimized for the TouchPad. If you were thinking about picking up a tablet, would you opt for the iPad, or do you prefer to go for the HP TouchPad? [Press Release]
