IOGEAR has announced that their latest USB Theater Sound Xperience is delivered via their inaugural USB audio adapter that sports DTS Surround Sensation Headphone technology. When hooked up straight to a computer’s USB 2.0 port, this USB Theater Sound Xperience device will help simulate a surround sound experience, regardless of whether it is on a pair of stereo headphones or speakers. Who would have thought that such a small device can pack in so much wonder, right?

Relying on a transparent vacuum tube-style design that will definitely appeal to audio enthusiasts, the USB Theater Sound Xperience will embrace two-channel (stereo) audio, processing it with DTS Surround Sensation Headphone technology in order to let your ears experience sounds that occur outside the boundaries of two channels. This experience is made possible thanks to audio cues such as special frequencies, volume intensity and time delay.

As for audio which has already been encoded in 5.1-channel, those can be said to gain a new lease of life thanks to LFE (low frequency effect) mixing which allows low frequencies to be mixed with front channels for superior performance. Just how much are you expected to fork out for the USB Theater Sound Xperience? It won’t burn a large hole in your pockets at $39.95, that’s for sure. [Press Release]
