Rugged cameras are not just limited to areas such as the pool or the beach, or trekking through the jungle. While often neglected, let’s not forget that snow sports is just as demanding and we’re sure that many skiers and snowboarders would love to be able to capture their gravity-defying feats on camera.

Kodak has thought of that particular market and has announced the Burton edition Playsport Zx5 pocket video camera, aimed at snowboarders and those who enjoy snow sports.

Specs wise it has not differed from the original Playsport Zx5, and apart from a new paint job, you should be able to expect 1080p HD video recording and be able to snap 5MP stills. The large buttons remain which means operating the device with your gloves on should not be an issue. There’s even a 60FPS slow-motion recording mode for those epic stunts.

As far as bundled accessories are concerned, the Burton edition will come bundled with a HDMI cable, a remote control, a 4GB SDHC memory card along with a tripod and carrying case. All of this will set you back $200, which means that for the new paint job and bundled accessories, the Burton edition Playsport Zx5 is $50 more than the original, but if this appeals to you, you should be able to get your hands on it this fall.
