Kodak, a company that many probably associate with cameras and film, announced earlier this month that they would be launching their own cryptocurrency which seems to be the trend these days. Naturally many were skeptical given that the company’s core business seems to be in photography.
Kodak announced yesterday that it’s going to launch its own cryptocurrency but that’s not where its digital currency ambitions end. The company has also teamed up with Spotlite to offer a bitcoin mining rig. There is one major caveat for customers who purchase this machine. They will have to part with half of their profits.
Kodak is a name that some of you guys might be familiar with if you grew up in the 80s or 90s. The company’s brand has been synonymous with photography, such as cameras and also camera film, although in recent times Kodak hasn’t really had much luck competing with other camera makers like Sony, Nikon, Canon, Fujifilm, and so on.
Instant print cameras don’t necessarily offer up the best features or controls or image quality as far as modern day cameras are concerned, but they do make up for it by being able to print photos on the spot, which can be fun if you’re looking to create souvenirs for guests at an event, or if you want to scrapbook.
Kodak unveiled its Ektra smartphone late last year. The smartphone is aimed towards those who take mobile photography seriously. The company released it in some markets across Europe back in December and it has now confirmed when the handset is going to be released in the United States. The company had previously said that it would be released in the country by April this year.
Kodak isn’t a name that you’d normally associate with tablets, but the company is moving into this market now, at least as far as leveraging its iconic brand is concerned. It has been confirmed that Kodak has signed an agreement with Archos which will see the latter develop Kodak-branded tablets. The brand licensing deal has been confirmed today by Archos CEO Loïc Poirier and VP of Kodak’s Consumer Products Group, […]
[CES 2017] The action camera market might be seen to be saturated by now, but there is always room for improvement — especially when you have more and more young people who have more courage than common sense performing tombstoning stunts all over the place. KODAK has just the action camera for folks who would want to up the ante — the next generation KODAK PIXPRO ORBIT360 4K VR Camera.
You might remember Kodak as the company that used to create some great cameras and film back in the day but times have changed and Kodak has tried to change with them. The company has been trying its hand at making smartphones for the past couple of years. Kodak unveiled the Ektra smartphone in October this year and it has now confirmed when the Ektra is going to be available […]
A couple of weeks ago, Kodak teased that they had a new smartphone in the works. It was an interesting announcement as Kodak used to be known more for their camera products and film back in the day, rather than smartphones, although it is definitely not the company’s first attempts at creating one.
For those who grew up with film cameras, Kodak is probably a brand that you associate more with photography than smartphones. However companies do have to evolve over time to meet the needs of society, and last year Kodak tried their hand at smartphones with the Kodak IM5.
Before handycams, smartphones, and cameras that take video that rivals what we had back in the day, there was the Kodak Super 8. At the moment it is safe to say that GoPro is the defacto action camera that many would choose to take with them on their adventures. This is because the GoPro is small, rugged, and can be used in all sorts of elements. However if there is one thing the GoPro can’t do, it would be to shoot 360-degree videos. If 360-degree videos are your thing, then you might be interested […]
Because we all look different and have different complexions and also different preferences when it comes to camera settings, sometimes there really is no one-size-fits-all solution when it comes to taking photos. Someone more prefer their photos overexposed, some prefer it under, some prefer a wider aperture, and etc.Well it seems that Apple has a patent that could possibly remember all your favorite settings based on facial recognition. The patent, […]
Earlier this year at CES 2015, Kodak announced the Kodak IM5 Android smartphone. This is Kodak’s first smartphone and it does pack some pretty decent specs, although in all honesty nothing to shout about. That being said Kodak did mention during CES that they are expecting to begin shipment of the phone at the end of Q1 2015, but no specific dates were mentioned. However thanks to a recent sighting on […]
