LTE capable Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket arrives on AT&T

GalaXy S2 SkyrocketIf you’re an AT&T subscriber and you’re looking to get your hands on an LTE capable device to use on AT&T’s brand new LTE network, Samsung has just the device for you in the form of the Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket, whose “Skyrocket” moniker is probably in reference to how fast LTE connections are, although that’s just our guess.

In terms of hardware specs, the Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket will sport a 1.5GHz dual-core processor (it is not know what sort of processor the Skyrocket will be using), which is an increase over the regular Galaxy S II’s 1.2GHz dual-core Exynos processor. It will also see an increase in screen size from 4.3” to 4.5” (800×480) and it too will be featuring Samsung’s Super AMOLED Plus display.

The rest of its hardware specs remain largely similar to the Samsung Galaxy S II, which means you will be able to find a 8MP camera on board that’s capable of 1080p HD video recording, a 2MP front-facing camera, 16GB of internal storage that can be expanded via a microSD card slot, and it will run on Android’s Gingerbread 2.3.5. If this sounds like the device you’ve been waiting for, the Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket will set you back $249 on a two year contract along with AT&T’s LTE data plans.
