[CES 2012] What do you think of robotic vacuum cleaners? Just what is the next step of evolution for them apart from being thinner and having smarter movement algorithms? Sure, the jump from a round to a square form factor is great to clean those corners, but LG seems to have a fondness for the round design, with the Hom-Bot 2.0 (originally seen at IFA 2011 in Berlin) ready and waiting to be brought home so that your floor and carpets will remain nice and spotless. Featuring Smart ThinQ technology, the LG Hom-Bot 2.0 is capable of “talking” to an iOS- or Android-powered device via a custom app (which is available for free, of course). Not only that, the Hom-Bot 2.0 has its own built-in camera, so that you can always check out a live video feed. Should your pad have a wireless network, the Hom-Bot 2.0 can connect to it for you to control it remotely. There is no word on pricing, but there is speculation that it will cost anywhere from $700 upwards to a grand – which makes it rather expensive for a robotic vacuum cleaner that has a slight jump on the evolutionary scale. What do you think of its value?
