Looks like there’s quite a lot of good news for the BlackBerry camp today – in addition to the rollout of PlayBook OS 2.0, the folks over at CrackBerry have discovered something new about the BlackBerry Remote app. It turns out, the app will let the BlackBerry phone it is installed on work on almost any device that supports the Bluetooth HID profile. Yes, this means you’ll be able to use your BlackBerry phone as an external keyboard for not just your PlayBook but even your Android tablet, PlayStation 3, or desktop computer as well.

The app seems to work seamlessly, with no need for the other devices to install anything extra. Users can just turn on Bluetooth, pair it up with the BlackBerry phone and they’re good to go. Pretty cool functionality if you ask me. This means no more packing a wireless keyboard with your tablet when you’re on the go – provided you have a BlackBerry phone capable of running BlackBerry Remote. Check out the video demonstration above to see it in action.
