Israelis did invent the first gun that is able to shoot around corners, helping you shoot your target without exposing yourself to danger. Well, I guess this is something less lethal, but interesting to look at nonetheless – a camera which is capable of capturing what is around the corner without the use of a snake-like tube. Basically, the camera will fire an extremely fast laser pulse at walls located ‘behind’ the area which cannot be seen, resulting in capturing a ghostly 3D reflection. This 3D reflection is constructed by a computer, which means what you see is somewhat similar to what you see around the corner, albeit without the use of a mirror this time around. Perhaps checking out the video above and you will be able to better understand how the principles of this new camera work. It is hoped that a future version of this camera system can be used by emergency responders, although I am quite sure that the military will also have more than a passing interest in such bouncing lights.
