While MOG’s music subscription service might not be as large compared to the competition like Spotify, it certainly has the company beat as far as iPad apps are concerned. The company has quietly released their iPad app over the weekend ahead of their rival, Spotify, which basically allows iPad owners to stream music via MOG’s music library which at the moment amounts to about 14 million songs.

If the name sounds familiar to you, it’s because a while back it was rumored that HTC could be interested in acquiring the company to complement its range of Android phones that are currently equipped with Beats Audio technology.

For those unfamiliar with MOG, it’s a music subscription service (like Rdio and Spotify) that allows users to stream music and also to download them for offline listening. The free version allows users to stream music with ads, while the paid version allows for offline listening at $4.99 month. There is also a $9.99 a month subscription model that allows for unlimited downloads on mobile devices. [iTunes App Store]
