Nokia Lumia 800Great news for Nokia Lumia 800 owners – if you thought that your phone could do better in the battery department you’re in luck. According to a post on the official Nokia blog, a new update will be rolling out (software version 1600.2487.8107.12070) starting today as opposed to the previously scheduled April 18th date. The update is said to bring significant gains to the phone’s battery life – be it for talk time on 3G networks, browsing over WiFi, music playback and overall usage time.

In addition to better battery life, the update is said to enhance the audio capabilities of the handset, so you get better voice quality during conversations and an improved music-listening experience. The update also makes sure that the soft keys illuminate no matter what your brightness levels settings are. No WiFi tethering yet with this update – but that should be just around the corner. As usual, update your Nokia Lumia 800 via Zune or Windows Phone 7 Connector. It will be rolling out in stages so have some patience if you don’t get it yet.
