Google has just rolled out their Google Maps Floor Plan Marker app, where it will allow folks who have uploaded floor plans of their business to further improve on the indoor location accuracy so that their visitors’ experience will be enhanced as they are able to enjoy using indoor maps within a particular venue. Unfortunately for the rest of the world, this app is only available for those residing in the US at the moment via Google Play.For business owners who have uploaded a floor plan via the Google Maps Floor Plans tool, upon installation of the Google Maps Floor Plan Marker app, you will be guided via the process of walking around the entire surface area of your place of interest. This app will rely on different methods of collecting the necessary data, including GPS, cell tower, and publicly broadcast Wi-Fi information. Needless to say, the amount of time required to complete this process will largely depend on the size of the venue, and if you happen to need to take a toilet or lunch break, just hit the pause button and resume when you are ready.
