We talked about the ZBoard electric skateboard late last month, and here we are with additional information concerning this futuristic skateboard that will burn far less calories for you while getting you to your destination without having to break a sweat at times, literally. Originally introduced at CES 2012 and picking up the “DEMO God Award” at the 2012 VentureBeat Demo Conference which happened in early April, the ZBoard electric skateboard will be able to ferry you for up to 10 miles on a full charge, with the ability to hit a top speed of 17 miles per hour. No idea if that sustained speed would translate to a 10 mile range still though, but pre-orders have already opened from $499 upwards, with shipping set to commence later this summer.

There will also be special edition models to cater for folks living in different areas. For example, the San Francisco model comes with increased torque so that it is capable of navigating through the city’s famous hilly streets without breaking a sweat, while the Santa Monica model will feature increased range and smoother wheels. What I want to see would be a Back to the Future Marty McFly model…
