If you are in the market for a prosumer class of digital cameras, then you might be glad that Olympus just announced their SZ-31MR iHS camera which is said to deliver plenty of performance and power into a single, compact and lightweight body. This is made possible courtesy of new enhancements introduced to the popular Long Zoom range. The Olympus SZ-31MR iHS will come with the game changing Multi-Recording functionality which allows you to capture 16-megapixel stills even when you are recording Full HD videos, so there is no need to be in two minds about a particular moment when shooting/recording. This feature has already started to make its way to the world of smartphones (the HTC One X), and it does seem set to stay.

When working with its outstanding 24x Wide-Angle Optical Zoom Lens (25-600 mm zoom equivalent in 35mm format), you should not be able to miss a single moment or face, even with a large crowd posing in front of you to have their group photo taken. Other features include a touch panel LCD display, iHS (Intelligent, High-Sensitivity and High-Speed) technologies, the aforementioned Multi-Recording feature, a 3″ LCD display, and a trio of Magic Art Filters for that added dash of creativity in your photos. No idea on pricing or availability though. [Press Release]
