173358-ea-sports-online-pass_headerA couple of weeks ago we reported that EA was going to remove the Online Pass feature due to poor feedback from their players. At that time of posting, it was said that the Online Pass feature would be removed from future titles, leaving many to wonder about the state of older titles which were subject to the Online Pass feature. Well in a somewhat redeeming move from the publisher that was named the “Worst Company in America” for the second time in a row, it seems that EA will be removing Online Pass from all their titles beginning with EA Sports games.

According to EA corporate communications representation, John Reseburg (via Game Informer), “As we discontinue Online Pass for our new EA titles, we are also in the process of eliminating it from all our existing EA titles as well […] We heard the feedback from players and decided to do away with Online Pass altogether.” EA estimates that it will probably take several weeks before it will take effect for the rest of their titles, so for non-EA Sports gamers, hang in there!
