micromax-quad-coreThe folks over at Micromax have come up with a smartphone that will not break the bank, and yet it looks set to being able to deliver a decent level of performance. The item in question would be the Micromax Canvas Doodle 2, which after conversion, should cost approximately $310 in an unlocked package. Apparently, this is an India-bound device, and it remains to be seen whether it will make an appearance elsewhere in the world or not, although we would not be betting too heavily on spotting this sporting a US mobile carrier logo anytime soon. Just what kind of hardware do you expect the Micromax Canvas Doodle 2 to pack underneath the hood?

For starters, it will feature a phablet-sized 5.7″ IPS LCD display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels, which will result in a density of approximately 257ppi. This particular Micromax Canvas Doodle 2 happens to run on a quad-core MediaTek 6589 1.2GHz Cortex-A7 CPU, where it will be accompanied by 1GB RAM, a 2600 mAh battery, a 12-megapixel shooter at the back with a 5-megapixel shooter in front, Android 4.2.1 Jelly Bean, and Full HD video recording capability. Not only that, you will find 16GB of internal memory to go along with it, although it will sadly lack a microSD memory card slot for expansion purposes.
