micromax-canvasThere is a race for the thinnest, fastest, strongest, most beautiful – you name it, you can more or less find it at one point or another in our human psyche. Where smartphones are concerned, thinnest or slimmest seem to be a standard that several companies have already aspired to, and Micromax is no different. In fact, they have jumped aboard the bandwagon by unveiling the Micromax Canvas Sliver 5, which has been touted to be the thinnest phone without any bumps in the world – where it measures an amazingly svelte 5.1mm.

This should be a true claim, as both the Oppo R5 and the vivo X5Max happen to be slimmer in terms of its form factor, but there are bumps around since the engineers failed to find a way to cram in the whole camera module within the chassis. Back to the star of the show – the Canvas Sliver 5 will sport a 4.8” AMOLED display at 720p resolution with Gorilla Glass 3, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 chipset with a quad-core processor, 2GB RAM, 16GB of internal memory, an 8MP Sony IMX219 sensor behind and a 5MP selfie shooter – without any microSD memory card slot, which is a bummer.

This will be a single SIM handset, with support for LTE and Android Lollipop right out of the box.
