mortal-kombat-xGamers these days seemed to be pretty concerned about how good their games look. Whatever happened to the good old days of board games and MUDs where graphics were the least of a gamer’s concern? Putting that aside, if you’re looking forward to the next Mortal Kombat title, you might be interested to learn that the game will run at 60fps and at 1080p resolution, which as far as gaming is concerned, is pretty great.

This is according to NetherRealm’s Ed Boon who tweeted out the specs in response to a question from the fans. “RT @DreamCorridor @noobde Are you guys using Unreal Engine 3 or 4? EB: Using our highly self-customized version of Unreal 3. 60fps 1080p!” Unfortunately Boon did not specify which platforms would support both 60fps and 1080p resolution, but hopefully it will apply to all the platforms the game will be released on.

NetherRealm’s upcoming title, Mortal Kombat X was announced just last week. The game is expected to be released in 2015 and will apparently be released across all platforms, including previous gen consoles like the PS3 and the Xbox 360. It will also be making its way onto the PC, so PC gamers might want to get their gamepads ready for some button mashing when the time comes.

Boon also teased that there will be two new characters introduced to the game, but unfortunately did not dive into any specifics either, but with E3 2014 kicking off today, hopefully we will be able to learn more about Mortal Kombat X soon.
