9441-1136-140602-Xcode_6-lThere have been talks that Apple could be looking to release a larger iPhone (or iPhones) later this year. There has also been mention of a certain iPad Pro which would pack a 12-inch display, noticeably larger than the iPad Air, a very much larger than the iPad mini. In fact such a device would allow it to compete with Microsoft’s recently announced Surface Pro 3.

While those remain rumors for now, it seems that Apple could have hinted at such a possibility in the release of the Xcode 6 beta. The beta was issued earlier today alongside OS X 10.10 Yosemite and iOS 8 announcements. Within the software, the folks at French website Mac4Ever discovered options for “Reizable iPhone” and “Resizable iPad”, which you can see in the screenshot above.

Now this could mean anything, but given that the iOS Simulator within Xcode 6 already accounts for all the possible screen sizes and resolutions for iOS devices available at the moment, we have to wonder what these Resizable options could be referring to? Could it be that Apple is hinting that in the future we can look forward to iOS devices of different screen sizes?

In any case we guess we will most likely learn more in the later part of the year, where Apple will officially announce their new iPhone devices, and possibly new iPads too. In the meantime what do you guys make of this? Could it be anything other than a hint at larger iPhones and iPads in the future?
