Basketball fans rejoice! 2K Games has finally released the official cover for its upcoming game. NBA 2K15 is going to be released for next-gen and previous-gen consoles later this year. There was some speculation about who would be picked to be on the title’s cover but fans no longer have to wonder. The NBA 2K15 cover athlete is league MVP Kevin Durant who dons his Oklahoma City Thunder #35 jersey.

Folks who know their basketball would probably know the story behind Durant’s #35 jersey. It is in honor of his AAU coach Charles Craig who was unfortunately murdered at the age of 35.

So now we all know that Kevin Durant is the face of NBA 2K15 but that’s not all. 2K Games is offering a little incentive for people to pre-order the title before it comes out later this year. It has detailed the KD MVP Bonus Pack which everyone who pre-orders NBA 2K15 will get.

It includes 5,000 virtual currency, a Kevin Durant Throwback MyTEAM Card, two MyTEAM Card Packs as well as MyPLAYER leg sleeves inspired by Kevin Durant.

This game also features music curated by Pharrell Williams which will be unveiled later this summer. NBA 2K15 is going to be released on October 7th, 2014 for PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and the PC.
