iphone 6_2How did you feel when the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus were revealed earlier last week? Surely your heart was beating in anticipation, and apart from the poor live streaming snafu which was attributed to bad JavaScript, were you looking forward to the release date of both handsets? Apple is pleased to announce that the iPhone 6 as well as its larger sized sibling, the iPhone 6 Plus, has managed to achieve a record number of first day pre-orders for both handsets in a matter of 24 hours.

Apparently, demand for the new iPhone 6 models have exceeded the initial pre-order supply, and this has caused a number of iPhone 6 pre-orders to be delivered in October instead of this month. Apple has more or less anticipated this to happen, and will be sending over additional supply of iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus devices to walk-in customers this coming Friday, September 19, at 8:00 a.m. local time at Apple retail stores.

This Friday will see both models made available from AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, Verizon Wireless, while other carriers and select Apple Authorized Resellers too, will be able to offer the new iPhones. I suppose it is all right not to be an early adopter, as you will eventually be able to lay your hands on the iPhone 6 after the initial frenzy has died down. [Press Release]
