ipad-mini-retina-review-chamferSo, the dust has finally settled from all of the Apple releases earlier this week, and the iPhone 6 has certainly seen an avalanche of orders. Having said that, the iPod Classic is no longer available for purchase from the Apple Store no matter how large your bank account is, and what of the iPad mini? Is it deserving of an upgrade? Apparently, it is long overdue for a change, at least according to some reports out there.

Ming-chi Kuo of MacRumors shared, “We previously thought Apple would not release a new version of the iPad Mini this year, but we now think Apple will launch an upgraded version with same form factor. ”

Apparently, the new iOS 7.1 will offer support for an iPad 4,3 as well as an iPad 4,6, and it is interesting to note that neither one of them are actually available devices that can be purchased. In other words, could the folks over at Apple be working on a new release of future generation tablets in order to keep up with the times? As with all of the other rumors and speculation out there, it remains to be seen, but the passage of time will certainly be able to do its job to confirm or squash all questions about the authenticity of such rumors.
