It has not exactly been a secret that BlackBerry has a new device in the pipeline called the Classic which goes back to the olden days of the company when its handsets included a trackpad and a function key belt. In order to appease its lost user base the company brought back the key belt and trackpad in the Classic. Specific details about the device are not yet available but BlackBerry CEO John Chen is wasting no time in getting the publicity wheels turning for this new smartphone.

This won’t be the only new device that the company’s fans have been looking forward to this year. The BlackBerry Passport has already been released and it has been performing reasonably well in the market. Some say that it is arguably one of the most innovative devices that BlackBerry has ever come up with.

In a new blog post today on the company’s official blog CEO John Chen introduced the BlackBerry Classic without revealing details about the specifications. He did reiterate that both the trackpad and function key belt are back and that few enhancements have been made around the edges and on the inside.

The CEO didn’t reveal what the screen size of this device is but said that it is “bigger and sharper,” and that the Classic brings everything that comes part and parcel of the BlackBerry 10 experience.

BlackBerry Classic is expected to hit the market this December.
