kizhner-energy-addictWe live in a world where each of us do happen to own a fair number of portable electronic devices, and there is always the habit that we have formed over the years to ensure that our devices remain fully charged the night before so that we will be able to better meet the challenges that come our way the next day. Imagine having to talk on your smartphone, discussing a business deal that would bring in plenty of revenue to the company, only to have your handset run out of juice? Naomi Kizhner, an Israeli graduate student, might have the solution to the lack of impromptu energy for mobile devices, as she has designed jewelry which theoretically speaking, is capable of harnessing your body’s energy in order to generate electrical power.

Of course, not all of her devices can be said to be palatable to everyone, since some of them happen to be embedded into the wearer’s veins. The reason behind that is not some sort of grotesque ritual, but rather, it will take advantage of the wearer’s movements as well as flow of blood in order to have a small wheel located within the device to turn – hence generating electricity along the way.

Surely this is one future accessory that will not find favor with many people, unless you are knee deep into body modification and all that. Kizhner toyed with this idea as she shared, “I wanted to provoke the thought about how far will we go to in order to ‘feed’ our addiction in the world of declining resources.”
