The Motorola Droid Turbo is rumored to be launching on Verizon in the near future, and it looks like that future could be closer than we think. It seems that the @DroidLanding Twitter account (via Android Policedroid turbo) has recently posted a photo of what appears to be the Droid Turbo decked out in a magnificent red finish, only to quickly delete it after.

Of course we expect the real life version to look less glamorous than the press rendering, but hopefully the red finish in real life will look tasteful and not tacky. Unfortunately we still have no word on when the Droid Turbo will be officially launched, but like we said with it making an appearance on Twitter, albeit briefly, it could be launched soon.

As far as the specs of the handset are concerned, a recently leaked user manual has revealed and confirmed some of the rumors. This includes a 5.2-inch Full HD display, a 3,900mAh battery that will be supported with fast charging, and a whopping 21MP rear-facing camera.

In any case we will be keeping our eyes peeled for the handset’s announcement, although with the rumored Nexus X “Shamu” pegged for a launch soon, it looks like October will be a pretty busy month for Motorola.
