samsung-z1For those of you who have heard about the Samsung Z before, here is a quick recap for those who have missed out on it – the Samsung Z was first announced in June this year, where it was meant to be the very first Tizen-powered smartphone from the South Korean conglomerate for the masses, although it somehow never made it to the market as the handset’s release was subsequently put off – indefinitely. Well, a new leak has started to make its rounds on the Internet, which could very well be the successor to the Samsung Z, where it has been dubbed to be the Samsung Z1.

If the Samsung Z1 that you see above is the real deal, then it could very well be the true first publicly available Tizen-powered handset. Thanks to Twitter user Manish Khatri who put up the images above, obtaining it from an Indian retailer event for the Samsung Z1. The handset is shaping up to be an entry level model, although it toes the line close to the mid-range segment of things, allegedly sporting a 4” display at 800 x 480 resolution, running on a dual-core 1.2GHz processor, sporting a 3MP camera at the back with a front-facing VGA shooter, accompanied by 4GB of internal memory, a microSD memory card slot for expansion purposes, 768MB of RAM, 3G connectivity and dual SIM support.
