lg monitor 2We’re sure that many are questioning the need for curved displays. The argument for curved displays is that they provide a better viewing experience, although to be fair regular flat displays have served us well over the years. However if you’d like to hop on board the curved display bandwagon, LG has announced that at CES 2015, they will be showing off a 34-inch 21:9 aspect ratio curved display monitor aimed at gamers.

Yes, gamers. If you’re a gamer and you’re thinking what it would be like to game with a curved display, this is a monitor for you. The 21:9 aspect ratio will no doubt offer you a wider view and more details that you might have missed on a 16:9 monitor. The monitor will also feature an UltraWide IPS panel and will also support AMD’s FreeSync technology, which is basically AMD’s answer to NVIDIA’s G-Sync technology.

lg monitor 1The monitor will also offer a 178-degree viewing angle and the ability to output 99% of the sRGB color gamut. While the monitor can be used for gaming, LG also appears to be targeting those in the enterprise market, especially those who work in the stock market. The monitors can be stacked together and LG believes that this will allow stock traders to keep an eye on various charts, graphs, and stock tickers.

Unfortunately pricing of these monitors remain unknown for now, but given their size and their 4K resolution and their curved display, it is safe to say that they will not come cheap, but either way do check back with us at CES 2015 next week for additional details.
