Earlier this year Motorola unveiled the Moto E, another low-budget offering from the company. Given how well the Moto G has done, we expect that Motorola had similar high hopes for the Moto E as well. That being said, could Motorola already be planning a successor to the Moto E this early on?

Well according to the rumorsmotorola-moto-e-20, the answer is yes. This is based on a report from Greece in which it was suggested that Motorola is expected to announce a new Moto E soon, which we have to say is a bit odd given that the handset isn’t even a year old yet. It is also expected to come with hardware improvements, much like how the Moto G’s successor came with hardware improvements as well.

So what kind of improvements are we talking about? Well for starters it looks like it will see a slight bump in display size from 4.3-inches to 4.5-inches. It will also come with a resolution of 540×960 and will be accompanied by a 5MP rear-facing camera and the possibility of LTE as well.

There is also a chance it could be upgraded to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 400/410 SoC which is a jump over the Snapdragon 200 in the original Moto E. Assuming this is true, this is a pretty big upgrade. That being said since none of this can be confirmed now, do take it with a grain of salt but check back with us in the future for more updates.
