moto-g-gpe-android501Yes, we did talk about it earlier this week, and true to their word, the folks over at Motorola has started to roll out the Android 5.0.1 Lollipop software update for the Motorola G Google Play Edition. This particular update will be made available to the masses via an Over The Air (OTA) mode of delivery, and you ought to be patient if you have not yet received it as it is guaranteed to be coming your way.

Do bear in mind that the Motorola G Google Play Edition is a different animal from that of the standard issue Moto G, since it will run on a completely stock version of Android, without having the “baggage” of additional Motorola software or carrier software thrown into the mix. Thanks to this latest update, users of the Motorola G Google Play Edition will be able to enjoy an Android experience that is not too different from those of the more high end Nexus range of smartphones and tablets.

It might even take up to a few weeks for this update to arrive on your Motorola G Google Play Edition, since such OTA updates tend to occur in waves. Have you already received your update so far?
