Christmas may have come and gone but Rockstar isn’t going to stop giving out gifts in Grand Theft Auto Online. As part of the GTA Online Festive Surprise update gamers would have received Christmas Day inventory gifts but due to unforeseen circumstances many gamers were unable to take advantage of this, which is why Rockstar has taken the right step to extend this gesture.

You probably would have heard by now that both PlayStation Network and Xbox Live were taken down by DDoS attacks over Christmas. This meant that many gamers around the world couldn’t sign into these networks to play games online. This is also the reason that Rockstar has provided for extending Christmas gift giving.

This was announced through a tweet from the official Rockstar Support account. The extension has been done “due to issues with PSN & XBL connectivity.” Rockstar has said that this step has been taken “for the time being,” which is why it is unclear right now that for how long will gifts be doled out to players. The players will see these gifts automatically pop in their inventories when they log into GTA Online.

The attackers have now taken a step back, apparently due to intervention by Mega’s Kim Dotcom. Sony and Microsoft have confirmed that PSN and XBL are back online, so if you want some gifts in GTA Online, better hurry.
