sbucksStarbucks has had a mobile app for a while now that allowed users to pay using it, but if you’d rather not stand in line and would prefer to place your order from a distance before collecting it, you’re in luck as Starbucks has recently launched its Mobile Order & Pay feature. This feature is limited to Portland, Oregon at the moment but it is expected to roll out to additional markets next year.

So what does the new feature do? Well basically it allows Starbucks customers to place an order on their phones via the Starbucks app and pick it up when it is ready. It will require users to send Starbucks their location so that the app will be able to direct them and their order to the nearest Starbucks store where they can collect their order.

This could potentially save users a lot of time especially if they’re in a rush and they’re looking to place their order, go in the store, pick it up, and leave, as opposed to having to stand in line with everyone else. Users will be allowed the same customization, like size, number of espresso shots, and more via the Starbucks app.

If you’re in Portland, Oregon, you can check out the new feature which should be enabled in the latest update to the Starbucks app. If you have not updated the app yet, you can do so by heading on over to the iTunes App Store for the download. The Android version is also expected to arrive next year.
