Most of us are socially aware to know that watching porn in public is not the right thing to do, especially if you’re in a very public and crowded setting like a Starbucks. However Starbucks does provide free WiFi to its customers which means that technically they can do whatever they want.

However for those out there who for whatever reason need to watch porn in a coffee shop, that will no longer be possible come 2019. Starbucks has recently announced that starting in 2019, they will be blocking access to porn for those who are using its WiFi network. This is apparently something that the company has been pressured to do for years, and it looks like it will finally be happening.

In a statement made to The Verge, a Starbucks rep said, “While it rarely occurs, the use of Starbucks public Wi-Fi to view illegal or egregious content is not, nor has it ever been permitted…We have identified a solution to prevent this content from being viewed within our stores and we will begin introducing it to our US locations in 2019.”

Like we said, Starbucks has been pressured to introduce content filters from a group called Enough Is Enough. However Starbucks claimed that they would only implement filters if they could not find a content blocker that wouldn’t block unintended websites as well. The group had previously managed to get McDonald’s to do the same.
