xiaomi-mi5-blackWe have heard rumors that Xiaomi is planning on launching a new smartphone in the form of the Xiaomi Mi5. No word on when exactly this particular device will be released, but with CES and MWC 2015 around the corner, perhaps Xiaomi could be taking either event as a platform to make the announcement.

That being said there are rumors that the phone could sport a sapphire display, and while it remains to be seen, new photos of the alleged handset have emerged showing it off in all of its glory. We can’t be 100% sure if these photos are the real deal, but if they are we have to admit that it looks pretty good.

As you can see in the image above, the Xiaomi Mi5 sports a pretty damn thin bezel. This gives the illusion that the display is bigger than it really is. In fact the black version gives off that illusion better than its white model, so for those who can appreciate this illusion, perhaps going for the black variant would be a better idea.

The exact size of its display still remains unknown. There is debate that suggests either a 5.5-inch display or a 5.7-inch display, but it is a bit hard to tell based on the photo. There are also rumors hinting at a QHD display and we could also be looking at a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805/810 processor with 3GB of RAM, but until we hear from Xiaomi officially, take it with a grain of salt for now.
