It has almost been a month since Apple last seeded a beta version of iOS 8.2 to developers. That changed today. iOS 8.2 beta 4 has now been seeded to all registered developers. The new beta firmware brings some changes that point towards the impending launch of the Apple Watch. iOS 8.2 is expected to arrive around the time the Apple Watch will hit the market, recent rumors suggest that this might happen in March.

In iOS 8.2 beta 4 Apple Watch mentions have been added to the Bluetooth section of the Settings app. Users are advised in this section to open the “Apple Watch app” if they want to pair their device with the smartwatch. This also reveals that a standalone Apple Watch application will be offered through which users will be able to control many of the settings for this device.

Apart from this the WatchKit SDK has also arrived for developers. It can be used to create applications and Glances for the Apple Watch ahead of its expected release in March. Developers thus have ample time on hand to get their content ready before the smartwatch is released to the public.

All registered developers who are already running an iOS 8.2 beta on their device will receive the latest release over-the-air. Others can head over to the developers center to manually download firmware files of iOS 8.2 beta 4.
