Replacing a phone’s screen can be a costly process which is why despite most displays these days being resistant to scratches, there is still a need for screen protectors as many have no qualms welcoming that added layer of protection. In some cases these screen protectors could even help absorb the damage from drops and prevent the screen from cracking.

If you’re in the market for a new screen protector, Patchworks has recently announced the ITG Edge. According to the company, this is a “technologically advanced” tempered-glass smartphone screen protector made from premium Asahi glass. It has also been designed for the iPhone 6 in mind as it features liquid silicon that will be able to wrap itself around the edges of your phone.

So why the need for such protection? Well Patchworks claims that about half of iPhone owners under the age of 35 have been dropping and cracking their screens since 2007. This means that there have been a lot of repairs done which has been estimated to have cost $6 billion just in broken screen replacements alone, so if one were to have a screen protector that could prevent such damage, all the better!

Patchworks will be selling their ITG Edge screen protectors this month where it will be priced at $39 for the iPhone 6 version and $45 for the iPhone 6 Plus version. In the meantime you can check out the videos above and below to see the ITG Edge’s durability tests.
