microsoft-surface-pro-3__42Huge companies like Microsoft do tend to gobble up smaller companies, in part of their effort to obtain the latest technology, or at least technologies that they think will benefit their company in the long run – all without having to go through the usual research & development phase themselves. Case in point, we have heard whispers going around the grapevine that Microsoft could be interested in picking up N-trig as part of their portfolio in due time.

Just in case N-trig sounds familiar but you cannot quite place your finger on it, it happens to be the very company that delivers the digital pen technology which one would be able to enjoy with the Surface Pro 3 (which you can see above). Word has it that the done deal has a value that crosses the $200 million barrier

It looks as though Microsoft working to double down on touch screen pen technologies, where N-trig’s technology that was used in the Surface Pro 3 enabled customers to enjoy a special kind of writing experience with OneNote on the device. How will all of this work out for Microsoft in the future? We really are unable to tell, but surely you will not see N-trig’s technology being shelved, no sir.
