Yesterday Samsung took to the stage in Barcelona to unveil the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge. Initial reviews of both smartphones have been very positive, with the new design and metal build being praised, apart from all of the new hardware that Samsung has packed into them. The company appears to have high hopes from its latest creation. Andy Tu, general manager of Samsung’s mobile communication business in Taiwan, believe Galaxy S6 sales will outperform its predecessors.

The sales record that Samsung might be looking to beat will be of the Galaxy S4. It was the company’s best selling model so far. Galaxy S5, which was released last year, didn’t do so well and ended up compromising Samsung’s position in the global smartphone market.

Tu said that Samsung has responded to the criticism of the Galaxy S5 with substantial changes being made to design and materials. He expects that the new design will bring in significant replacement demand for the Galaxy family products.

Samsung is going to start selling the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge in 20 countries across the globe from April 10th. Major carriers in the United States, and across the pond in the UK, have already confirmed that they will be selling Samsung’s latest and greatest products to their customers next month.
