sony-xperia-z3-z3v-review-05A couple of days ago Sony Indonesia announced that the Android 5.0 Lollipop update for its Sony Xperia Z handsets would be arriving next week. It wasn’t confirmed if it would be an international rollout or if it would be limited to Indonesia. However it seems that Sony France has similarly confirmed that the update will indeed be rolled out next week so we will definitely be keeping our eyes peeled for it.

We also expect that the update will most likely be staggered so if you do not receive yours next week, it’s probably on its way and will eventually make its way to you. For those in the US who might have bought their phones from carriers, there is a good chance you might have to wait just a little bit longer as carriers will need to test and approve the update before it is pushed out to its users.

In the meantime it seems that nothing has changed on Sony’s end as the update will be limited to Xperia Z handsets. Sony confirmed this recently although leaked screenshots from the Sony Xperia C3 seemed to hint that maybe Sony could be thinking about pushing it out to their lower-end devices as well, but like we said nothing has been announced or changed so far, so it’s best not to get your hopes up just yet.
