Street Fighter 5 Release Pegged In Spring 2016 By Capcom

We have known for a while now that a new Street Fighter title is in the works. Up till now it has not been officially confirmed when Street Fighter 5 will be released but it looks like Capcom might have inadvertently let the release timeframe slip. A post on the official Capcom-Unity blog offhandedly provided us all with an expected release timeframe for Street Fighter 5.

The post was published to provide information about all of the merchandise that Capcom will bring to PAX East 2015 in Boston. One sentence in the post said “Everyone is fired up for Street Fighter V coming to the PS4 and PC next Spring.”

This was obviously news to everyone who happens to be following all developments related to Street Fighter 5. Capcom didn’t provide a release window before so no one really had an idea when this title will arrive.

A representative for Capcom tells Polygon that what was revealed on the bog is “just a tentative release time,” and highlighted the fact that no official announcements have been made yet.

Street Fighter 5 will be released exclusively for PlayStation 4 and Windows PC. Before it is released Capcom will run “the largest and most ambitious online beta program in franchise history” for this title.
