htc-one-m9-live-8Recently there have been some blind camera tests in which the HTC One M9 did not fare particularly well. This isn’t to say that the camera is absolutely horrible, it’s just that if a good quality shooter is your number one priority, it would seem like there are better options out there, the rest of the phone’s features notwithstanding.

That being said if you are planning on getting yourself the One M9 regardless of its camera’s performance, you might be pleased to learn that HTC will be issuing an update that will supposedly address its camera’s performance. It is unclear as to which areas it will be improving upon, so we guess we will just have to wait and see what the changes are upon its release.

The update has yet to be issued and for AT&T and T-Mobile users, the update is currently in its final testing phase and should roll out in a week’s time. For Sprint users, the update is ready and will be pushed out starting tomorrow. As for Verizon owners of the HTC One M9, the update will be pre-loaded onto your phones when they go on sale so there won’t be anything you will need to do on your end.

An earlier post showed the difference in camera quality between the HTC One M8 and the One M9 in which the latter was clearly better overall, although low-light photography was clearly not one of its strong suits which hopefully the update will address.
