samsung-galaxy-s6-edge_010The Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge is a unique device as it sports two curved edges along the sides of its display. These displays offer up different functions and features and controls separate of the main display, thus opening up some interesting options for apps and users. However if you were thinking of getting your hands on it, you might want to move quick.

According to a report from Reuters, Samsung’s mobile chief J.K. Shin has revealed that supply of the Galaxy S6 Edge could be constrained. Apparently this has to do with production yields for the display which are low. This doesn’t come as a surprise since we can only imagine that the new curved displays are harder to manufacture compared to their flat counterparts.

HMC Investment analyst Greg Roh also revealed that demand for the Galaxy S6 Edge is starting to increase as carriers are reportedly placing more orders for the handset. This could lead to a situation where demand is greater than the supply, which also means that the average selling price is not expected to drop quite as fast which is good news for Samsung and their profit margin.

That being said, Samsung themselves seem to think that the Galaxy S6 will still ultimately outperform the Galaxy S6 Edge in terms of sales. In any case the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge are expected to be released come 10th of April in the US.
