We have been hearing a lot about the Sony Xperia Z4 lately and according to Sony, the device does exist although they couldn’t tell us when they might announce it. In fact the closest thing we got to a launch date was when they said that the handset’s product cycle had not been moved to a 12 month one.
What this means is that we can probably expect its announcement before September, or could it be possible that we might expect it much earlier, like next week for example? According to reports from the Japanese media, they have heard from their sources that Sony will be unveiling a new smartphone in Japan no later than the 20th of April, leading to speculation that this particular product could very well be the Sony Xperia Z4.
However it is possible that given its Japan-based announcement, we could be looking at an entirely different handset that might only be catered towards the Japanese market, but for the sake of Xperia fans out there, we’re really hoping that this will be the Xperia Z4. So far what we know about the handset based on rumors and benchmarks is that it will come with a 5.2-inch Full HD display.
It is also expected to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 with 4GB of RAM, 32/64GB storage options, and will come with a 20.7MP rear-facing camera and a 5MP front-facing camera. Take it with a grain of salt for now, but hopefully we will learn more about its launch in the coming days.
