youtube-100hoursDon’t like the ads on YouTube but don’t want to resort to using AdBlock? Well you’re in luck because it seems that YouTube has confirmed that they will be introducing a new ad-free service, although the catch is that users will have to pay a subscription fee to enjoy their videos without ads interrupting them.

This follows recent rumors that YouTube has plans for a new subscription-based service. This confirmation comes by way of YouTube sending out emails to their partners informing them of the upcoming option where viewers can choose to enjoy an ad-free version of YouTube simply by paying a monthly subscription, although there was no mention of how much it would cost users just yet.

However YouTube did point out in their email that their YouTube Creators will be getting a 55% cut of the total net revenue from subscription fees. This is essentially the same amount YouTube pays from advertising revenues. The email also highlights that this particular option is expected to go into effect come 15th of June, so if you’re interested in signing up for this, June will be the date to look out for.

This isn’t YouTube’s first rodeo with subscription services. If you recall, back in 2014 the company launched YouTube Music Key, a service that gave access to Google Play’s entire library along with ad-free music videos where it is priced at $9.99 a month. Hopefully this upcoming service will be cheaper.
