Microsoft has released an update for Skype for Mac, although it is not a big update, but it does brings along good enhancements to Skype’s functionality. The new update has some tweaks such as better visual on the chat box text field, which in turn provides users with easier way to send photos on chat.

The update is currently live and can be checked by clicking on “Skype” option and then “Check for updates”. The update version is 7.8, but it needs to be noted that the update will only be functional on OS X 10.9 or later OS.

There is no other big feature added to the interface of the software, but Microsoft has provided slew of bug fixes with this update too. Some of these bug fixes are :

— Enhanced performance for the animated GIFs
— Resolved the issue of chat text going blur when the conversation was dragged among displays

Although this update tackles all the bugs that have come along with the previous but it does not mean that it has not brought its own troubles. As every update does come with lags and bugs, so does this update. Users are reporting some issues that have surfaced with this update, those issues are:

— The app crashes on MacBooks with Force Touch trackpad
— Video stutters as soon as the Skype window is minimized
