Earlier last month, EA confirmed that the next Mirror’s Edge game would see a release in early 2016 but no specific dates were revealed, but now during the announcement and release of the game’s trailer at E3 2015, we have a date to look forward to – the 23rd of February 2016, so if you’re a fan of the original Mirror’s Edge, this is a game you could look forward to.

Dubbed Mirror’s Edge Catalyst as confirmed by its developers DICE earlier last week, the game will introduce some new elements to its gameplay that was not there previously. For starters there will be no levels and no loading times in between the levels since there aren’t any. Instead gamers will be able to freely roam the entire city and pick up missions and complete objectives as they find them.

DICE has also removed the need for guns in the game, which some are celebrating as a good decision as the guns in the previous game felt a bit out of place. The story of the game will be more or less Faith’s origin story and how she grew up, so if you’ve always been curious about the game’s protagonist, this could be your chance to find out more.

From what we can tell in the trailer, the game looks good and is based on the in-game engine, so this should give gamers an idea of what to expect, so if you have a couple of minutes to spare, check it out in the video above.
