About a month back Google formally announced the next major update for its mobile operating system. Android M is currently in beta right now and it will be released publicly towards the end of this year. Some OEMs have confirmed which of their handsets will be the first to receive this update and HTC has already said this about the One M9 and One M9+. Naturally there were questions about the HTC One M8 and people who own that device will be glad to know that it has made the list as well.

HTC’s Jeff Gordon previously said that Android M will be released for the One M9 and One M9+ with more devices getting the update after that.

He didn’t say anything about the One M8 at that particular time but the confirmation came from HTC’s Mo Versi who had already tweeted about it but apparently that tweet dropped off the radar.

That can happen, Twitter hides replies from a person’s followers unless they’re directly involved in that conversation or they manually search for those tweets. It’s understandable why this tweet hasn’t spotted when it was sent out.

Mo Versi has confirmed that HTC One M8 is going to receive the Android M update but doesn’t offer a release timeframe, one isn’t available even for the One M9 and One M9+ at this point in time so we can cut him some slack.
