nokia-icon-review-002Many are curious as to what the Microsoft flagship Windows phone will look like and what kind of specs it will sport. However as Microsoft had previously stated, they will only release the device once Windows 10 has been launched, which we suppose makes sense, but now thanks to a rumor, we at least have something to look forward to.

While Microsoft/Nokia’s previous smartphone releases were typically of the polycarbonate variety, it seems that Microsoft will be doing things different this time around. They will be taking a page out of the Nokia Icon/Lumia 930 playbook and will apparently be constructing their next Lumia flagship out of metal.

A metal-built handset will no doubt be a hit amongst fans, especially when the competition from Apple and Samsung are already producing devices on that level. That and the brand new Windows 10 operating system should help the handset generate a fair bit of buzz, but whether or not it will be good enough to see a higher adoption remains to be seen.

In the meantime Microsoft has recently made a $7.8 billion write-off and has also cut about 7,800 jobs, mostly from its mobile division which has left many worried about the future of mobile at Microsoft.
