aston-martin-teslaIs this a case of the pot calling the kettle black? After all, isn’t forking out more than $200,000 for a car a “ludicrous” thing to do? Of course not, according to the CEO of Aston Martin, Andy Palmer, as he has decided to reserve a choice word for Tesla’s Model S that will arrive with a Ludicrous mode which will send it from 0 to 60 miles per hour in under three seconds. Which is fast – very fast.

Palmer happened to be quoted in Automotive News as mentioning that Tesla’s Ludicrous Mode was “stupid.” Apart from that, Palmer also shared that he would prefer to drive an electric vehicle which are able to last “a few laps of a decent race course”, instead of just using up so much juice in such a short, ego-boosting moment.

Palmer also decided to bring this war of words online by mentioning over Twitter that Aston’s “insane mode comes as standard – no button required.” Apparently, Aston Martin has plans for a fully electric Rapide Sedan which will boast of 800 horses underneath the hood, in addition to a 200-mile range on a full charge – with an asking price that is close to double that of the high end Model S, placing it somewhere between $200,000 and $250,000.
