Cortana

Microsoft’s digital assistant — Cortana is coming to Android and iOS soon, but Microsoft is not planning to bring it to OS X. Thankfully, the wish is somehow being tackled by the app — Parallels, which has unofficially brought Cortana to Mac OS X. The version 11 of Parallels comes with complete Windows 10 support, and it also brought Cortana on board. Although, running virtual machines on OS X is not rocket science, but Parallels has devices a special coherence mode that enables Cortana to activate itself on the MacBook without messing with the Windows 10 user interface.

As a preliminary requirement, users must have the full original copy of the Windows 10 in order activate the feature, which comes installed in the Parallels virtual machine. After meeting all the requirements, users can then activate the option of “Hey Cortana” after which Cortana will always be there at your service. The feature would enable users to use the command “Hey Cortana” at any time (even when you are using regular Mac apps such as Safari or iTunes), and it would make Cortana appear in the middle of the screen instantly. Just like it works on the Windows 10, it will make it easier for the user to know about certain things such as the Weather, Sports Score, or maybe any topic of your interest.

The new version — Parallels 11 also comes with a variety of enhancements to the app, such as booting and shutting down of Windows, and also battery improvements. The app costs $79.99 per device, or $49.99 for the users who are upgrading from the version 9 or 10 to the latest version 11. Sadly, all those with versions lower than 11 will not get full Windows 10 support with coherence mode.
